Commercialising Quantum – May 17th-19th 2022
The Economist's Commercialising Quantum – May 17th-19th 2022 | Virtual & London
The final day of the “Commercialising Quantum” conference will examine the need for a quantum code of conduct and explore how to mitigate risk with dual technologies. As the timeline to defend against quantum attacks and the timeline for them being real begins to overlap, we will assess how we can revamp our encryption infrastructure to become quantum safe.
Themes on Thursday 19th May include: Quantum communications and cryptography, Techno nationalism, Quantum ethics.
Companies speaking virtually include: BP, Gulf Bank, Toshiba Corporation, U.S. Department of Energy, Wells Fargo, Quantum AI Institute and many more.
Find out more about the event and how to attend
Quick Recap
Y2Q is the word as the new Y2K. The year where quantum computers break the internet or achieve advantage. Probably with the same effect as the former. This week is about communications. PureVPN partners with Quantinuum to launch a Quantum safe VPN. Governments movements and BT with Toshiba to launch their network. In the meantime IQM gives green light to a €35M facility backed by the EIB and Fermilab releases a board for control electronics that can simplify scaling up the qubits.
Will I see you at The Economist event in May? My good friend Carlos Kuchkovsky from QCentroid will moderate a panel there.
