ColdQuanta completes their funding round (last week with Breakthrouh Victoria and now up to $110M with LCP and Sumitomo among others. EleQtron raises €50M from Earlybird and Siegerlandfonds in Germany, while Universal Quantum wins a German project for €67M to build a multichip for the German Aerospace Center. Qiskit launched the first of their Quantum Information courses, so if you don’t want to read Mermin, Peres or the Mike&Ike, this is a good first approach. AWS makes strides on the quantum network and go ahead with a couple of explainer articles. Also adds QuEra into their quantum systems. Azure adds Rigetti in the same week their CEO announces stepping down as President and CEO of the company to focus on product and tech. Lastly, a video by Sabine Hossenfelder, always controversial, talking about the quantum winter and why the hype. My take on the video is that she is right on many things (we’ve talked about hype before in this newsletter), but there is no need to call names or bash people and companies who are helping improve the industry. In order to move science to industry you need just the right amount of expectations. But please, watch the video and let me know your thoughts.
